The company “Sunel” was constituted in 2005 in Giarre, in the Province of Catania, when the PV market was just at the beginning, but the belief and determination of the founding partners made possible the launch of a production line for the assembly of photovoltaic modules both in monocrystalline and polycrystalline silicon.

The idea was to create in Sicily, the land of the sun, a company that would have contributed to the diffusion of the culture of Renewable Energy and that would have created a site of sound occupation for the local youth.

The guiding philosophy is prioritizing the quality and the reliability of the product, rather than an attractive price, because photovoltaic modules are durable goods and must guarantee for many years the efficient production of clean electricity, avoiding costs for continuous maintenance operations.

With this goal, Sunel initiated a close collaboration with a Swiss Company (3S - Swiss Solar Systems AG; today 3S Modultec), for the production of a high-quality module since it is made up of components which are carefully selected among the best european producers.
